My name is Norma and I am the sister of Kenetta. I went to Higley Elementary from 4th grade til 8th grade and then went to Gilbert Jr. High. My 8th grade graduating class had a total of 8 people. It was an awesome school. Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Pomeroy were my most favorite teachers. I have a lot of great memories living in Higley. We lived on Power and Ray Rd when Ray Rd. was a dirt road. There were no traffic lights and no store. Where there is a Walmart and Target now used to be alfalfa fields and cotton fields. They used to heard sheep through down the streets. On the 4th of July we used to watch fireworks in our back yard that were shot off from Williams Air Force Base and also got to see awesome air shows without ever leaving our yards. Our house that we our dad built is no longer there it is just an empty lot except for our shed that was in our back yard that used to be our shop class when I went to Higley School and we moved it to our back yard and used it as a barn and workshop. I still go out there from time to time and it makes me kind of sad. I'm glad to have lived there in such a small town and wish that I could raise my kids in a small town also....
